Our Mission

We partner with adolescents and their families to build resilience. Through individual & group therapy and collaborative parent workshops we provide space for all people to strengthen awareness and grow compassion.
We believe all people are capable of growth and worthy of healing.

Here's What I Know
Young people are over-stressed, overwhelmed, and highly anxious.
But they are also innovative, creative, and resilient.

I know that the day-to-day stress of being a teenager can make young people (and hey, let's be honest... all of us) feel like hiding. I also know from experience that anxiety can make you want to just give up.
I don't know you or your teen just yet, but I believe that they already have everything they need within them to be whole. There's nothing for them to change. Sure, there's some stuff to let go of, learn, and process, but there's whole lot more to cultivate, grow, and let shine.

Anxiety can make you feel like you're not good enough. It's this voice in your head that over-and-over again tells us something isn't okay. It's hard. Therapy can help! I believe that we (yes, that means all of us) have everything we need within us to be whole, to feel complete and to feel like we really, truly belong. We just might be in a phase where we can't quite see that yet.
Hey! I'm Rachel (she/her)
My role in working with adolescents is to support them in gaining the confidence to find their voice and to use it.
I support my clients by providing a safe, judgement free zone where they can explore who they are. We talk and learn about the brain, anxiety, and how it all works so we have a better understanding of when it rears its ugly head.
I believe that some stuff can be really tough to talk about so I incorporate a lot of art and expressive elements into therapy. My job isn't to make you talk about all the hard stuff, it's to provide a space for you to learn more about yourself so all the good parts can shine through and the parts that are telling you you're not good enough can step aside.
From seeing the benefits of yoga and meditation in my own life, I'm a huge lover of mindfulness and utilize this as another tool in my work with teens.

Professional Bio
Here's where all the boring stuff goes!

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been working children, adolescents and families since 2014. I always knew I wanted to be a social worker. I graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Psychology and went on to receive my Master's in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to working in private practice, I worked as a school-based therapist, so I know the ins-and-outs of the school setting.
I have received extensive training in the areas of trauma, expressive arts therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and play therapy. I'm a Registered Play Therapist, a Certified Trauma Practitioner and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
I also have extensive experience in the areas of grief and loss and. I previously served as the Family Bereavement Services Coordinator at Full Circle Grief Center where I coordinated and oversaw the grief support groups for children and families.
Additionally, I'm a believer of the brain/body connection and completed additional trainings to be certified as a Register Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Prenatal Yoga Teacher (PYT). I enjoy incorporating elements of mindfulness, breathing, and yoga philosophy into my work with clients.
